Use Toothpaste For Pimples
Can Using Toothpaste On Pimples Really Work?
Sounds like an unlikely combination. After all, toothpaste is for daily dental hygiene and for brushing your teeth with. However, it seems that to use toothpaste for pimples is quite a common practice, but why?
Most toothpastes contain menthol, which helps to ‘dry out’ pimples and zits – reducing the size of the offending pimple and getting rid of any redness and inflammation.
Wash your face with a mild soap and pat dry. Then apply a little bit of toothpaste directly onto the pimple and leave on overnight, the best type to use is the ordinary white type, don’t bother trying to use a gel variety.
In the morning wash off the residue and apply a moisturizer. Hopefully, your pimple will be gone.
If You Do Use Toothpaste For Pimples
Be careful to apply the toothpaste only on the pimple as it will also dry out and irritate the surrounding skin too – although this can be a good quick fix. There are much better and safer acne treatments available, such as Clear Skin Max.
Toothpaste on pimples does work for some people but don’t over-do it. Some people try it and it doesn’t work for them or they find that the toothpaste burns their skin, in some cases it can even cause scars.
So rather than using the overnight method straight away, test it out first. Maybe do your nightly cleansing routine slightly earlier than usual, apply the toothpaste and leave for say 30 minutes before washing off. Repeat for a few nights, your pimple might start disappearing anyway and you’ll not need to do the overnight treatment.
Tip: when using a treatment for the first time doing a small test like this is advisable because everyone is different and what works for some may not work for others.
