3 Effective Home Remedies for Acne

Acne Home Remedy When it comes to acne, there are tons of companies out there that will try to sell you miracle cures just to line their own pockets. While some of the more popular and highly promoted acne treatments have shown signs of working, there are quite a few home remedies for acne that work just as well, if not better. Finding the right acne remedy for your situation is important, and below, you’ll find three simple acne remedies that you can apply in the comfort and security of your own home.

1. An extremely popular home remedy for acne is the application of fresh, natural mint to your acne problem areas. In order to use the mint solution, you’ll need to take a trip to your local supermarket or nursery and purchase a few sprigs of fresh mint leaf, which you can usually pick up for under a couple of dollars. Take the mint home, and with proper supervision, crush it thoroughly with a mortar and pestle. Scoop up the resulting crushed mint leaves and juice, and apply it generously to problem acne areas on your face and leave it on for about ten minutes. After the ten minutes are up, rinse the area with cold water and repeat this process until the area clears.

2. The “honey and cinnamon” method is another acne home remedy that will scare your pimples off forever. The process involves mixing a spoonful of honey and some cinnamon, making an overnight paste that you’ll rinse off in the morning. The best honey to use would be a high powered, natural honey called “Manuka honey”. It’s a tad bit more expensive than regular, store bought honey, but the healing properties that it brings to the table are well worth it. As far as cinnamon, head to your local supermarket and purchase a few small cinnamon sticks that you can shave some cinnamon from. They are cheap and readily available. Again, mix the solution together, apply it to the area of concern, leave on overnight, and promptly rinse in the morning. Do this for 7-14 days or until pimples disappear.

3.  Another popular method that has seen plenty of positive results is the application of a lemon juice and rose water solution to the affected areas. Simply squeeze the juice of one lemon in to a small mixing cup, and add an equal amount of rose water (you can either make your own or purchase it cheaply online or at a health food store). Mix the solution thoroughly and apply to the acne areas on your face. Rinse with cold water and repeat the process a few times per day for a period of 7-10 days, or until the acne retreats.

The home remedies above all have a few things in common – they’re easy, cheap, and effective. In a down economy, going back to the basics can not only save money, but chances are it will give you better results than the big name solutions you see on TV.
